City seeks volunteer to serve on Culture, Arts and Heritage Commission

Reyere

The City of Vancouver is seeking applicants interested in serving on its Culture, Arts and Heritage Commission. The deadline to apply for these two open positions is 5 p.m., Friday, April 15.

The city’s Culture, Art and Heritage Commission is a nine-member volunteer group responsible for facilitating the development and promotion of a thriving cultural, art and heritage environment that reflects the people we serve. This is accomplished through the creation of community-informed programs, ownership of buildings and public art, and a commitment to community partnerships.

Commissioners meet from noon to 2 p.m. monthly, with meetings currently being held remotely for the foreseeable future.

The city is seeking volunteers who are leaders in the cultural, heritage, arts or business community with experience relevant to the purpose of the commission. Applicants must be available for an interview with Vancouver City Councilmembers on Wednesday, May 4. These vacancies are for mid-term seats, with one expiring December 2023 and one expiring December 2024.

Applications may be submitted online at www.cityofvancouver.us/boards. For a printed application or for further information, contact the boards and commissions coordinator at P.O. Box 1995, Vancouver, WA 98668-1995, bc_coordinator@cityofvancouver.us, or by calling 360-487-8600.
