Washington State University issued the following announcement.

The university community is invited to attend two online COVID-19 town halls on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The events will provide updates on topics ranging from plans for spring semester to brief presentations about WSU research focused on COVID-19.

The first town hall is for all audiences, while the second will provide more detailed information of interest to students and parents.

Town Hall #1

11 a.m.–noon

Topics:

• Plans for spring semester classes
• The University’s updated COVID-19 testing plan for spring semester
• Spring semester housing plans on the Pullman campus
• An update on student fees
• WSU research on the transmission of COVID-19 from humans to pets
• WSU research on how viruses enter a cell
• An update on virus test results on the Pullman campus

Town Hall #2

5–6 p.m.

Join town hall #2 via Zoom

Topics:

• Additional details about spring semester, focused on topics of special interest to students and parents

For the first town hall, President Kirk Schulz and Provost and Executive Vice President Elizabeth Chilton will  be joined by Colleen Kerr, vice president for external affairs and government relations; Mary Jo Gonzales, vice president for student affairs; Jessica Bell, clinical instructor, and Raelynn Farnsworth clinical associate professor, College of Veterinary Medicine; Anthony Nicola, Engle Distinguished Professor of Infectious Diseases, College of Veterinary Medicine; Jason Sampson, assistant director environmental services, public health, and sustainability.

The panelists scheduled for the second town hall include Gonzales, Kerr, Sampson, Brian Dixon, assistant vice president of student financial services; and Jill Creighton, dean of students and associate vice president for campus life.
