Brennan Blue has been hired as the City of Vancouver's new fire chief, according to a city press release. 

“Chief Blue will bring exceptional, engaged leadership to the city of Vancouver and Fire District 5 in support of the Vancouver Fire Department’s core mission of fire suppression, prevention and emergency medical services,” Vancouver City Manager Eric Holmes said in the press release. 

He has over 32 years of experience in the industry, with 13 years as a chief officer. 

“It is a distinct honor and a privilege to be selected to lead the dedicated men and women of the Vancouver Fire Department,” Blue said in the press release. “I look forward to building on the great work of the department staff in collaboration with the community. Together, we will continue to provide the highest level of fire and emergency response to the residents and visitors of our vibrant and growing community.”
