Camp Evergreen is offering free childcare two days a week for children in preschool to age 12 whose parents are health care workers or first responders, KPTV reported.

The program is supervised by Union High School and Mountain View High School Athletic Directors Rory Rosenbach and Adam Mathieson, according to the news agency.

“We have amazing parents in our district, but I promise you, what they are doing here is vastly different than anything a parent by themselves can provide because there are so many people that have worked so hard to make this work,” Rosenbach told KPTV.

Not only does the program provide childcare, but Mathieson told the news agency it's similar to school.

“To be able to have the ability to come here and have some connectivity and a little bit of maybe, normalcy?" Mathieson told KPTV. "Whether it’s educational stuff, art or P.E., it’s not necessarily school but it runs as close to a school as you can get."

The program will be held Monday through Friday at Crestline Elementary School.
