Statement from Vancouver City Council on Ukraine
0Comments

City of Vancouver issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

We want to acknowledge our community members who are being impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our thoughts and hearts are with you.

The news and images from Ukraine are profoundly troubling. Like others around the globe, we are horrified at the loss of life and displacement of Ukrainians as the incursion into Ukraine continues.

The Vancouver City Council stands in support of the Ukrainian people and those in our community who have family and friends in the region. We are thinking of you and your loved ones in this distressing time.

Vancouver prides itself on being a multicultural community that respects and values everyone regardless of nationality. As this situation continues to unfold, we want to encourage community members to support their neighbors with ties to Ukraine or Russia who may need help and assistance during this difficult time.
