Five Clark County officials, all elected or re-elected in the Nov. 8 election, will be sworn in next week to four-year terms that begin with the new year.

The group includes Councilor Sue Marshall, who was sworn in Nov. 30 to replace former Councilor Richard Rylander Jr. Gov. Jay Inslee appointed Rylander to fill the remainder of an unexpired council term, with Rylander’s appointment ending once results from November’s election were certified.

Marshall, along with Councilors-elect Glen Yung and Michelle Belkot, will be sworn in at 9 am Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. Auditor Greg Kimsey will administer the oath of office to Marshall and Young; Clerk Scott Weber will swear in Belkot.

Assessor Peter Van Nortwick and Treasurer Alishia Topper will be sworn in at 8 am Tuesday in the second-floor joint lobby of the Public Service Center. Superior Court Judge Emily A. Sheldrick will administer the oath of office. Van Nortwick and Topper were both re-elected last month.

John Horch was sworn in on Dec. 22 as Clark County sheriff. He will succeed retiring Sheriff Chuck Atkins. Retired Judge Rich Melnick administered the oath of office.

Weber was re-elected in November and was sworn in on Dec. 22, 2022 by Superior Court Judge Jennifer K. Snider.

Kimsey, re-elected last month, was sworn in on Dec. 22, 2022 by Weber.
