Clark County issued the following announcement on Mar. 10.

Clark County Council Chair Karen Dill Bowerman released the following statement regarding the invasion of Ukraine.

“I, and the entire Clark County Council, stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian neighbors; we send our thoughts and prayers for peace in Ukraine. We join local, state, national, and global leaders in condemning the invasion of Ukraine.

We stand in support of the Ukrainian people, notably the thousands of Ukrainian residents in Clark County and those with family and friends in the region. We acknowledge the significant hardship and grief they are experiencing during this time.

Clark County has a long and proud history of resettling thousands of refugees from around the world. In the first week of February alone, Clark County welcomed 32 refugees from Ukraine, and more are anticipated to arrive in the coming weeks and months.

Our thoughts and hearts will continue to be with Ukraine and our Ukrainian neighbors here in Clark County.”
