City seeks grant applicants for tourism-bolstering projects

City of Vancouver lodging tax grant applications for projects or  events that increase overnight and day-visit tourism will be available  starting Monday, Aug. 22, and are due at 5 p.m.

on Thursday, Aug. 25.

Lodging tax grants are available to non-profit and tourism  organizations with projects, events or activities that increase visits  to the city or help increase tourism-related revenues for

future events.  The grants are funded through a four percent lodging tax on hotel,  motel and bed and breakfast stays.  

Applications are available on the city’s website at www.cityofvancouver.us/LodgingTaxGrants.  $25,000 in grant funds is available in funds remaining to distribute in  2022, and grants

must be for a minimum of $5,000 each.  Costs incurred  prior to the grants being approved by the City Council and the execution  of an agreement will not be eligible 

reimbursement.
