City seeks applicants for positions on City Center Redevelopment Authority

The City of Vancouver is seeking applicants with real estate,  construction or economic development backgrounds who are interested in  supporting the growth and success of

downtown Vancouver, to fill three  seats on its City Center Redevelopment Authority (CCRA) board. Completed  applications must be received by 5 p.m. on November 10.

The CCRA board is responsible for overseeing downtown redevelopment  consistent with the Vancouver City Center Vision plan. The board advises  the Mayor and City Council on

public-private partnerships, public  assistance to private developments, and the business aspects of  redevelopment projects and agreements in downtown Vancouver.

Consistent with the CCRA’s charter, board members should have broad  business backgrounds with experience relevant to the CRRA’s purpose in  fields such as real estate

development, law, construction management or  economic development. In addition, the CCRA is committed to ensuring  that its board represents diverse community voices with

varied lived and  professional experiences. Applicants are not required to live within  the city limits.

Two of these seats are currently held by individuals whose terms are  expiring and who may reapply. Per Vancouver City Council policy, all  incumbents who wish to reapply for their

positions will be reinterviewed  along with any qualifying applicants. The third seat is for a mid‐term  appointment that expires in 2023 and would have the option to seek  another full,

four‐year term.

Qualified applicants will be interviewed by City Councilmembers on a  date to be determined. Applicants who are not appointed through this  process may be considered for future

CCRA board vacancies for up to one  year from the date of their application submission.

Regular CCRA meetings are on the third Thursday of each month  beginning at 12:30 p.m. at City Hall (415 W. Sixth St.). Special  meetings of the Board are advertised and held as

needed - historically  four to six times per year. Board members prepare for meetings by  reviewing development plans, financial projections, legal documents and  other technical

information related to the projects presented at  workshops and public meetings.

Applications may be submitted online at www.cityofvancouver.us/boards.  For a printed application or for further information, contact the  boards and commissions coordinator in the

City Manager’s Office at P.O.  Box 1995, Vancouver, WA 98668-1995, bc_coordinator@cityofvancouver.us, or by calling 360-487-8600.
